External HDD (hard disk drive) Enclosures are portable caddies for 2.5" or 3.5" SATA hard drives. They allow you to use a normal, inexpensive hard disk as portable storage and backup, easily connecting 40GB, 80GB, 120GB and larger SATA storage to your computer via USB. However, these HDD external enclosures are more than that! They can also function as high capacity stand-alone media players.
